How long does a room take to plaster?
A single ceiling or one wall is usually a day. An average room skimmed throughout is typically one to two days, and boarding first adds to that.
You'll get a realistic timescale with the quote rather than a guess.
Do you board first or skim straight onto the wall?
Both, depending on what's there. Sound existing plaster gets prepared and skimmed. Bare brick or block gets a backing coat, and damaged or uneven surfaces are usually better boarded out first.
Can you build a media wall?
Yes — stud frame, openings for the TV and fire, recesses and shelving formed, then boarded and skimmed ready for decorating. The electrics and the fire itself are handled by your electrician or fitter.

Will there be a lot of mess?
Plastering is wet work, but floors and remaining furniture are sheeted, edges are cut in cleanly and everything is cleaned down at the end. Waste goes with us.
Can you plaster over damp walls?
Not until the cause is fixed. Skimming over active damp just hides it and it will come back through the new plaster.
Once the source is dealt with and the wall has dried out, we can re-plaster and make good.

Yes — boarding, taping and skimming through new extensions, loft conversions and new builds, working to your programme.
